During the first week of September the Presbyterian congregations of Annalong, Kilkeel and Mourne gather together for 6 evenings of Bible teaching, delivered by Rev David Johnston. The text for the week was Hebrews 11, looking at Heroes of the Faith. Each evening we had to opportunity to dig dipper into the lives of the people mentioned in the great chapter of faith, with David diligently and faithfully leading us through how the lived by faith and not by sight.
There is so much to learn and unpack from this teaching that isn’t just head knowledge, but learning for life as we today live by faith and not by sight in an ever changing world.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. (ESV)
